  • This meeting has been supported by the Office of Naval Research, Physical Sciences S&T Division, and on occasion also by the Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire, and the QB3 Institute of Biomedical Research, University of California, Berkeley. In addition, over the last two years the Chemical Sciences Division and the Materials Sciences Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have provided generous support.

The usual format for the meeting, introduced in 2000, includes Sunday morning as well as Friday evening and Saturday. Invited lecture sessions will have 30 minute time slots for each lecturer. These sessions will be in the morning and afternoon of Saturday, and the morning of Sunday.

Friday evening and, if necessary, Saturday evening are reserved for contributed presentations. Each contributed presentation will have a poster display and a two minute oral summary/advertisement.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the meeting on both Saturday and Sunday. For evening meals, the participants will be free to sample the the many superb restaurants in the Berkeley and San Francisco area. Please view David Chandler's recommendations on several restaurants.
