This annual statistical mechanics meeting was first held in year 2000. It has been supported by a number of agencies, most recently by the Materials Sciences and Chemical Science Divisions of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; QB3-Berkeley; the Pitzer Center for Theoretical Chemistry; and the Theory of Nanostructured Materials Facility, Molecular Foundry, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The meeting takes place the second weekend of each January.
Invited lecture sessions are held Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning, with 30 minute time slots for each lecturer.
Friday afternoon (4:00 - 7:00 PM) and Saturday evening (5:30 - 8:30 PM) are reserved for contributed presentations. Each gives a poster display and a two minute oral summary. Presentations are followed by a light reception both evenings.
Breakfast and lunch are included at the meeting both Saturday and Sunday. For evening meals, participants are free to sample the the many superb restaurants in the Berkeley and San Francisco area.
